Our Association was present in the first audit of the year, of the “Stakeholder Quality Assurance Panels (SQAP)” of the European Union Intellectual Property Office, held from 9 to 11 April in Alicante, Spain. On this occasion, ASIPI was represented by Christian Duran from the Duran Correjter office in Spain.

As part of the EUIPO Strategic Plan 2020, the Office proposed to improve the quality of user-oriented services. As a result, initiatives such as SQAP are carried out throughout the year, in order for users to express their comments and recommendations regarding the Office’s process.

In this case, 16 auditors representing 11 User Associations participated, who focused on reviewing 64 decisions of the Opposition Division of EUIPO. This analysis included a detailed evaluation of the decisions, based on the quality criteria established by the Office.

ASIPI has been a member of the ‘Users Association ‘ of EUIPO since 2015, and has participated in numerous activities of the Office. The next SQAP is scheduled for June 2018.
