ASIPI participates in the third edition of the IPO Enforcement Seminar in Montevideo

The Inter-American Association of Intellectual Property (ASIPI), participated for the third time in a row, as organizer of the “III Promoting Intellectual Property Rights Enforcement Policy in Latin America: The Role of the IPO Seminar”, held from April 19 to 20 in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Montevideo, Uruguay.

The Seminar was organized by INTA together with the National Industrial Property Directorate of Uruguay (DNPI), and with the participation of ASIPI and the Business Action to Stop Counterfeiting and Piracy (BASCAP) of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC). Representatives of the Industrial Property Offices of the Region, customs officials, and judges attended the event, continuing with the aim of having the actors of the process involved in each Seminar. On this occasion, ASIPI was represented by Matías Noetinger and Juan Vanrell, Vocal 3 and former President of the Association, respectively. They participated as moderators in the panels of the “Observance in Courts: Criminal Actions” and “Observance within the Borders: Work with National Enforcement Agents”. This meeting culminated successfully, and proved to be an excellent opportunity to strengthen ties of collaboration with the DNPI, as well as to continue the work together with INTA and BASCAP.
