He graduated from the Technological University of Panama with a degree in Electromechanical Engineering in 2005. He received his degree as Doctor in Electrical Engineering from Texas A&M University in 2011, where he studied thanks to the Scholarship Program of Professional Excellence administered by the Secretariat National Science, Technology and Innovation of Panama (SENACYT). At the beginning of his career he practiced professionally as an electrical designer and later as an engineer in power generation plants. Since 2006 he works at the Technological University of Panama where he currently works as a full-time professor at the School of Electrical Engineering.
