Global harmonization of intellectual property law through the WTO TRIPS Agreement has been criticized by UN agencies and scholars alike on the grounds that TRIPS imposes on developing countries’ uniform standards of IP protection which are ill suited to address these countries social and economic needs. In your view, are the criticisms well grounded?
