Senior Legal Director for Latin America at PepsiCo, he began his career at PepsiCo in 2004 as Legal Manager in charge of PepsiCo’s trademark portfolio in Mexico, and in 2007 he changed his role to manage PepsiCo’s trademark portfolio in Latin America. In 2009, he was invited to lead the legal contract team for the food and beverage businesses in Mexico and in early 2011 he returned to the global brand team as responsible for PepsiCo’s food and beverage portfolio throughout the Latin American region, taking responsibility for more than 20 thousand trademark registrations, such as PEPSI®, LAY’S®, DORITOS®, CHEETOS®, GATORADE®, QUAKER®, TROPICANA®, among many others.

Prior to joining PepsiCo, Sergio was a Senior Associate in Santamarina y Steta, one of the most prestigious general firms in Mexico.

Sergio and his team are part of various associations in the field of Intellectual Property, such as ASIPI, INTA, ABPI and AMPPI and have actively participated in various working committees, such as the ASIPI Enterprise Committee, the INTA Unfair Competition Committee among others.
