On September 14, took place the Business Rounds B2B Ecuador in Quito, in which ASIPI participated as the main promoter of the panel called “Apellations of Origin, a tool for Development”.

The panel was attended by important figures from the legal and business fields, Mr. Christian Marlin from INAO in coordination with the French Embassy in Ecuador, who spoke about the appelations of origin in French food products, Cecilia Falconi, President of the Geographical Indications Committee of ASIPI and Ambassador for Ecuador to the Intellectual Property Commission of the International Chamber of Commerce, discussed the legal framework for apellations of origin in Ecuador, the current state of public – private efforts and the infractions of foreign appellations of origin in Ecuador. Johana Aguirre, ASIPI’s Principal Delegate for Ecuador, opened the event with a brief introduction. Mr. Jorge Chávarro, Director of the Executive Committee of ASIPI and Regional Ambassador for Latin America of the Intellectual Property Commission of the International Chamber of Commerce, presented an interesting display about the trend in the appelations of origin in Colombia. To conclude the successful morning, Ec. Javier Dávila spoke about the use of the Pisco appellation of origin in Peru.
