The Dominican Association of Intellectual Property (ADOPI), and the National Office of Industrial Property (ONAPI), recognized Maria del Pilar Troncoso on her election as president of the American Association of Intellectual Property (ASIPI), for the 2015 2018 period.
The opening remarks of the event were given by Dr. Ruth A. Lockward, Director General of ONAPI, who addressed the audience on the importance of Intellectual Property in the economy, and gave words of congratulations to Troncoso for her accomplishment.
Afterwards, Mrs. Wallis Pons, President of ADOPI, expressed congratulations to Troncoso, highlighting Troncoso’s trajectory in the profession.
Present at the event were, Mr. Marino Felix Terrero, Director of the National Office of Copyright (ONDA), Mrs. Katrina Naut, Director, Bureau of Foreign Trade and Administration of Trade Agreements (DICOEX) and Mr. Carlos Roy, Program Officer of the Section of Technical Cooperation PCT, of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO).
Meanwhile, Troncoso gave a word of thanks for the support and enthusiasm received by all colleagues and Dominican institutions on intellectual property, especially the active participation of the delegates from ASIPI for the Dominican Republic, Mary Fernandez and Sharin Pablo.
Also attended the event, Troncoso’s colleagues, and team members of her law firm “Troncoso Leroux, Abogados Consultores”, as well as ASIPI members.
