The opening of the event was held on October 27, 2019 at 8:00 p.m. in the Gran Teatro Nacional of Lima, Peru, architectural jewel of architecture.

It began with a show called Viru Origins, which narrates the importance of valuing our past, the connection with nature, the need to look at each other, generate community and celebrate our identity, recognizing our tradition. The artists are part of D-1, which is a non-profit association that has been operating in our country for 14 years supporting young people from vulnerable areas to transform their lives and was created by Vania Masías, a distinguished Peruvian ballet dancer .

The members of the main table were presented and the representatives of the governmental authorities, international and Latin American associations were recognized; sponsors; exhibitors; media sponsors, product sponsors and local law firms sponsoring Monday´s cocktail reception.

Subsequently, the President of the National Institute for the Defense of Competition and the Protection of Intellectual Property (INDECOPI), Mr. Ivo Gagliuffi; the Deputy Director General of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), Mr. Mario Matus; the President of the Court of Justice of the Andean Community, Mr. Hugo Gómez and the President of ASIPI, Elisabeth Siemsen do Amaral.

The new ASIPI logo was launched, the famous and successful Chef Gastón Acurio addressed the audience and then participants’ enjoyed a cocktail reception.
