Trip to the terroir of the Denomination of Origin Dominican Rum

The Dominican Rum tour will take place on December 2. We will learn more about the history and production of the most emblematic drink of the Dominican Republic, made since 1942.

This tour will depart at 8 a.m. from the hotel and after two and a half hours of travel we will arrive at the distillery, which is located in the middle of 70 km2 of cane fields, where the process of harvesting, grinding, and obtaining the sugar cane juice begins. Later, we will visit the production plant, where the raw material is aged in oak barrels for at least 12 months, and we will take a tour of the aging cellar, immersing ourselves in the aroma of the older reserves.

To give a 360-degree view, and as a finishing touch for the experience, we will visit the Ron Barceló Historic Center to learn more about its history and evolution, through the years, in a totally eclectic, old and modern environment, with objects that will awaken your curiosity and will surround you in an atmosphere of discovery. There we will enjoy a show with a folk group from San Pedro de Macorís while we taste various foods, as well as a rum tasting.

We will return to the hotel at approximately 7:30 pm.

The entire tour will be carried out with adequate biosecurity measures to ensure, above all, the well-being of visitors.
