Jorge Chávarro

Lawyer from Universidad Externado de Colombia, with a minor in legal terminology at the Institute of Comparative Law in Paris and private international law at the University of Paris II – Sorbonne and at the Academy of International Law in The Hague. He’s worked in Cavelier Abogados since 1987, where he is currently a Senior Partner.

He has worked in intellectual and industrial property, commercial law and private international law. He is a member of several associations such as: ACPI, AIPPI, ASIPI, APRAM, INTA, ICC IP Commission and ORIGIN. He is currently a member of the Board of Directors of the Alliance Française from Bogotá and the French – Colombian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Author of the Compilation of standards on the obtaining of new plant varieties in the countries of the Andean Community; co-author of the works “Estudios de derecho y propiedad intelectual”, “Siglo XXI El despertar de las indicaciones geográficas en América” y “Manual de Propiedad Intelectual.”
