Margarita Castellanos

Margarita is a partner of the Boutique IP firm in Colombia, CASTELLANOS & CO.

She has advised national and foreign clients on Intellectual Property for more than 25, years and combines her practice in the Trademarks and Patents departments of the firm.

She is a lawyer from Pontificia Universidad Javeriana of Bogotá and has specialization studies in Intellectual Property from the Franklin Pierce Law Center in New Hampshire, United States, as well as specializations in Commercial and Administrative Law from the Universities of Javeriana and Externado de Colombia, in Bogota.

She was shortlisted for the Women in Business Law in the Americas award by Euromoney’s publication in 2020 and the recipient of the recognition as IP Star for several consecutive years, by Managing Intellectual Property magazine.

She is a member of the AIPPI Trademark Committee and the ASIPI Patent Committee; and she frequently publishes articles in the World Trademark Review and International Law Office magazines.
