Rodrigo Velasco A. is a lawyer from the University of Chile and a graduate of the Berklee College of Music in Boston, USA. He is the managing partner of the technology and intellectual property area at Alessandri Attorneys at Law. He works in matters related to licenses, contracts, tax aspects and litigation concerning domain names, trademarks, patents, data protection, cybersecurity, software and internet. He created the entertainment area of the firm, which advises many celebrities, both from the music industry, as well as audiovisual, with prominent clients as the Latin Grammy singer and winner Ana Tijoux and the TV showman Don Francisco, among others. He also advises the Chilean Professional Soccer Team. Year after year he is highlighted by the prestigious legal guide Chambers & Partners in intellectual property and in technology, media and telecommunications. He is an active member of the International Association of Privacy Practitioners (IAPP) and Vice-Chair of the Latin American Committee of the International Technology Law Association (iTechLAw). In 2011, he was included by the Minister of Culture, Arts and Heritage in the appointment of the first three arbitrators and mediators for collective management conflicts of copyright, of the National Council of Culture and Arts of Chile. He joined the Music Council of the same ministry until 2017, when he assumed as President of the Beethoven Foundation.
