Excellent presentations in the second academic day of ASIPI Panama

Today, the workshops agenda of the XX Work Sessions and Administrative Council of ASIPI was developed. Four academic spaces divided into two sets were held to ensure the maximum attendance of the participants.

In the first session, the topic “Domain Name dispute resolution” was discussed with the speakers Francisco Rios of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), Wilson Pinheiro Jabur of the Brazilian Intellectual Property Association (ABPI) and Martín Michaus from Basham, Ringe and Correa, SC.

Likewise, speakers Juanita Acosta of Dentons Cardenas, Rosa María Franco of the International Association of Professionals of Privacy (IAPP) with the moderator Jorge Allende of Allende & García Abogados, developed the presentation of “Habeas Data: Regulation on personal data bases”.

After a lunch break, started the workshop “Getting Legally Ready for a Start Up” with the interesting participation of Ignacio Luis de León of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), Ronald Y. Barazarte of the Technological University of Panama and Mercedes Morris of the Coffee Museum.

Concomitantly, the theme of the “Trademarks (Nice and Viena) and Industrial Designs (Locarno) International” was explained by Eliseo Montiel and Monica Valdez de la Torre of the Mexican Institute of Industrial Property (IMPI).

After the academic part, the attendees of the Conference participated in an Afternoon Camp Day at the Golf Club of Panama. They enjoyed various sports activities, swimming pool and lunch, with a relaxed atmosphere offered by Panama City.
