Sergio Barragán

Born in Mexico City, with a law degree from the Universidad Iberoamericana.
Senior Legal Director in charge of all Intellectual Property legal matters for PepsiCo in Mexico and Latin America, as well as Head Legal counsel for Pepsico’s Global Foods Group. Together with his team, Sergio is responsible for PepsiCo’s food and beverage portfolio throughout the Latin American region, having under his responsibility more than 20 thousand trademark registrations, among which are brands worth more than a billion dollars, such as PEPSI®, LAY’S®, DORITOS®, CHEETOS®, GATORADE®, QUAKER®, among many others. In addition to this responsibility, Sergio plays the role of General Counsel for the PepsiCo Global Foods Group, which oversees all campaigns and initiatives around the world for PepsiCo’s global food brands, Lay’s, Doritos, Cheetos and Quaker, ensuring that all legal aspects are properly covered and ensuring consistency of the brands worldwide.
Sergio and his team are members of several IP associations, such as ASIPI, INTA, ABPI and AMMPI. He has participated in several working committees within INTA, and currently participates in the Board and Executive Committee as Treasurer of the Association.
