With over 20 years of experience in the implementation of IP and entertainment strategies, he currently serves as Vice President of IP and Content at Fillip. Previously, he was the Regional Director of IP at Netflix, where he started at the Los Angeles headquarters and formed and led the team responsible for Spain and Latin America. Before joining Netflix, he held the position of Director of Intellectual Property at Grupo Televisa. In 2006, Gerardo resided in Zurich, Switzerland, where he focused his efforts on defending media and broadcasters´ rights. He holds a law degree from Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico City and has a diploma in Innovation from RedBox Academy, a certificate in ‘Clearance Rights for Film and TV’ from the Eric Pommer Institute in Germany, and, more recently, a certificate in Artificial Intelligence: Business Strategies Applied from the University of Berkeley in California. He was the first in-house lawyer from Latin America to join the board of the International Trademark Association (INTA). He also served as chair of the legal committee for the North American Broadcasters Association (NABA). Preselected for the Marcasur Excellence Awards in 2016, the leading IP magazine in Latin America. Throughout his career, he has been a speaker and lecturer at various forums and universities, both nationally and internationally.
