Jennifer McCarthy

With nearly two decades in the intellectual property legal field, Jennifer specializes in managing global IP-portfolios and developing and implementing effective IP-enforcement programs which focus on mitigating risks and addressing infringements to safeguard brand integrity. In her role as the Director of Global IP and Brand Enforcement for the iconic Playboy brand, she oversees a diverse range of IP-assets, including a global trademark portfolio consisting of over 6,000 registered trademarks, ensuring robust protection and compliance across multiple jurisdictions.

Before joining Playboy, Jennifer spent the early part of her career working in patent prosecution for some of the top IP law firms in the Washington, D.C. Metro area. She transitioned to her first in-house role nearly a decade ago as the Legal Director for Painting with a Twist, the largest ‘paint-and-sip’ franchise in the U.S. She also served as the Legal Director for Penthouse Global Licensing.

Jennifer is a member of the International Trademark Association (INTA), and she currently sits on INTA’s Famous and Well-Known Marks committee for the 2024-2025 term.
