María del Pilar Troncoso is a founding partner and the Director of the IP Department of the firm Troncoso Leroux. Thanks to her more than 30 years of professional experience in litigation, consultation and legal assistance in Intellectual Property, she has positioned herself as one of the pioneers in the field in the Dominican Republic.

She has remained involved in the Development of Intellectual Property in the country, with important contributions in the drafting of Law No. 20-00 on Industrial Property and its Implementing Regulations; she was Assistant Commercial Delegate of the Dominican Republic in the United States of America.

In her willingness to contribute to the development of Intellectual Property in the Latin American region, Ms. Troncoso is member of various associations related to Intellectual Property, actively participating in different committees. Thanks to her constant work, she was elected President of the Dominican Association of Intellectual Property, and was the first woman to be President of ASIPI (2015-2018).

As an advocate of continuing education, Ms. Troncoso has been a professor of Intellectual Property at various universities, and is also a frequent speaker at various forums, conventions, workshops and seminars at national and international levels. She participates in educational activities for judges, prosecutors and officials involved with Intellectual Property in the Dominican Republic, as well as in coordinating workshops for the identification of counterfeit products given at the General Directorate of Customs (DGA).
She has also participated as a speaker at WIPO activities.
