Mario Pomares holds a law degree from the University Miguel Hernández (2003) and a Magister Lucentinus in Industrial and Intellectual Property and Information Society Law from the University of Alicante (2004). He is an associate professor of the Commercial Law Area of the Department of Legal Science of the Miguel Hernández University, professor of the Master in International Trade of the University of Alicante, of the Master in Industrial Property of the University of Alicante, of the Master in Law of the Bar Association of Elche, of the Master in International Business Law of the Cardenal Herrera CEU University, as well as lecturer and professor of several courses and Masters on Industrial Property.

Mario Pomares is a member of the Bar Association of Alicante since 2005, working in the field of Intellectual Property. Since 2006 he has been a partner of the law firm Berenguer y Pomares Abogados, becoming Managing Partner in 2011. He is also a member of the Spanish Group of AIPPI, member of INTA and ASIPI.

In the field of Appellations of Origin, he has a vast professional experience in advising different Regulatory Councils both Spanish and foreign, having been selected as an expert by the EUIPO, the European Commission and other institutions in international projects in the field. He is legal advisor to the Asociación Origen España, a member of OriGIn (Organization for an International Geographical Indications Network), an association of which he was a member of its Executive Committee from 2011 to 2019.
