Valuation and Monetization of Intangible Assets -Part 1

The foundation of intellectual and industrial property rests on the possibility of doing business with the result of creativity because it is -precisely- the property of its owner. Therefore, classic IP revolves around the ownership and scope of rights and the power to exclude third parties from their use through legal action.

However, little work has been done on aspects that make up the business context: implications for the economy, how to establish value in businesses that involve intangibles and their projections on tax aspects, company value, investment flows, etc. and litigation and, in turn, how all these issues impact different innovation clusters. This course aims to emphasize these strategic issues.
