In this webinar organized by the Arbitration and Mediation Committee of ASIPI, the application of the Alternative Dispute Resolution Methods for the resolution of conflicts derived from Intellectual Property was promoted.

Leandro Toscano, specialist in international dispute resolution and intellectual property, Head of the Business Development Unit of the Arbitration and Mediation Center of WIPO and Javier Fernández, specialist in Intellectual Property and Information Technologies, panelist at the WIPO Arbitration and Mediation Center and Partner of the Elzaburu firm were the speakers of this webinar held on September 3rd, and Paul Corral, specialist in Alternative Dispute Resolution and Intellectual Property, Mediator and Arbitrator and Partner of Corral Abogados was the moderator.

Through this webinar we learned that there are several intellectual property issues or conflicts that can be resolved through Mediation and/or Arbitration, such as licenses, R&D, technology, audiovisual, franchise, joint venture, patents, trademarks, etc. Mediation and/or arbitration can be accessed through arbitration clauses, submission agreements, unilateral applications or judicial reference. These methods are effective tools to be applied virtually or online.

Finally, the experience and procedures of the WIPO Arbitration and Mediation Center, as well as of the International Court of Arbitration and Conciliation specialized in Intellectual Property of ASIPI were presented.
