Artificial intelligence is transforming industries, but who is accountable
when something goes wrong? What happens when algorithms make decisions that affect individual rights or use our literature, research, and artistic works for training? What mechanisms exist for recourse, and howcan we audit the so-called “black boxes”? The rise of autonomous
machines, such as self-driving vehicles, industrial robots, and diagnostic algorithms in medicine, also poses new challenges in terms of liability and damage redress.
As AI becomes increasingly involved in economic, political, and social decision-making, urgent questions arise about its impact on human
autonomy and the concentration of power. How can we prevent these systems from becoming uncontrollable entities? How can we reduce biases
and algorithmic manipulation in the information we consume?
This panel brings together experts in law, technology, and ethics to discuss
how regulatory frameworks, transparency, and best practices can ensure accountability in the development and use of AI. Drawing on recent case studies and current challenges posed by technological advances, panelists will explore the tensions between innovation, control, and responsibility in the algorithmic era.
