The National Palace of El Salvador is considered one of the most emblematic buildings in the country, located in the Historic Center of San Salvador, in Plaza Libertad. It was built between 1905 and 1911, and in 1980 it was declared a National Monument. Today, it stands as an icon of the country’s history and culture, as well as a major tourist attraction, as its walls tell the stories of the nation’s politics, culture, and social evolution.

With an imposing neoclassical architectural style, the palace has four main halls on its second floor, distinguished by their colors: the Pink Hall, which hosted the Supreme Court of Justice; the Yellow Hall, which housed the Presidency of the Republic; the Blue Hall, where the Legislative Assembly met; and the Red Hall, which was used for ambassador credential presentations and the organization of receptions by the Salvadoran Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
