Lorena Rojas Vega is a consultant in the Technology Transfer Section of the Intellectual Property for Innovators Department at the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), based in Geneva, Switzerland. Her work focuses on supporting the development of institutional frameworks that enable the efficient transfer of new technologies within the field of intellectual property, with a strong emphasis on strengthening innovation ecosystems in universities and public research institutions.

She has extensive experience in intellectual property management, covering patent drafting, trademark registration, copyrights, industrial designs, as well as handling office actions and reviewing terms for technology transfer agreements

Prior to joining WIPO, she led the Intellectual Property Center at the National Institute of Medical Sciences and Nutrition Salvador Zubirán in Mexico.

She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Sciences from BUAP, a postgraduate diploma in Pharmaceutical Management from the Monterrey Institute of Technology and Higher Education (ITESM), a Master’s degree in Intellectual Property and Innovation from the University of San Andrés in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and a PhD in Biomedical Sciences from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), where she also published several articles in basic biomedical research.
