Keynote Conference: Artificial Intelligence 2024: where are we standing, what’s coming?

SIRI, ALEXA, Autonomous Driving Systems, Chatbots, Advanced Facial Recognition, Deep Learning… Artificial Intelligence (AI) has an increasingly evident presence and impact on our daily lives, on how we communicate, interact, and even how we think. It’s a “concept” under which different intelligent models come together, essential for executing more sophisticated automations and processes. The development of systems capable of learning and making decisions, adapting, and directing information represents a significant opportunity and, at the same time, a major challenge for humanity. AI and its various modalities evolve rapidly, relentlessly; its presence is already visible in the practice of professions, in the economy, in communications, in government management, in politics, and more. It is therefore prudent to take a moment to understand where we are and what implications AI has and will have for human society and to prepare to be an informed participant in this technological highway of human evolution.
