Companies as vehicles for social development

On June 18, after an introduction by Ricardo Fischer (Director of ASIPI) and the presentation by the moderator, María del Pilar Troncoso (Past President of ASIPI), Italo Pizzolante (Consultant in Business Strategy and Communication, founder of Pizzolante), presented the subject from a general perspective, explaining the concept of Corporate Social Responsibility and its difference with what a Socially Responsible company is. Marcela Cristo (AB InBev's Director of Sustainability for Latin America and the Caribbean) spoke about AB InBev's program as a sustainable company and the commitment it has in these moments of crisis: taking care of the health and safety of its personnel; helping to improve the crisis through business; innovating to improve or create new products; supporting its suppliers / clients and collaborating with the community. For his part, Alberto Vollmer (Executive President of Ron Santa Teresa) presented the Alcatraz Project, an initiative of Ron Santa Teresa, a social insertion program for young people with behavior problems, which has managed to dismantle 11 criminal gangs and reduce the rate of violence in the municipality of Revenga, Aragua State, Venezuela.
