Alvaro Arévalo is an attorney, holds a Master’s degree in Corporate Law, and has a diploma in Intellectual Property and New Technologies. He is currently Partner in charge of the Copyright, Related Rights and New Technologies Area, as well as the Trademarks and Domain Names Area at Villaseca Abogados, specializing in legal advice, contracts, and litigation in these fields.
He served as an adjunct professor of Intellectual Property in the Corporate Law LLM program at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile between 2010 and 2012. He is also a member of the Chilean Intellectual Property Association (ACHIPI, Chilean branch of AIPPI) being president during years 2019-2021 of its Copyright Committee, as well as associate and member of the Copyright Committee of ASIPI.
Since 2010 to date, he has published various articles focused on Copyright and Industrial Property issues in specialized economic and legal publications in Chile, such as Revista Capital, Revista Empresas y Poder, El Mercurio Legal, Diario Pulso, and website americaeconomia.com. He was a contributor to the edition (2nd Ed., 2013) of the publication “Doing Business in Chile” by the British-Chilean Chamber of Commerce A.G., specifically in the chapter on Copyright – Author’s Rights and is currently consulted by various media outlets (radio, television, and print) on current issues related to Copyright and Industrial Property.
