Mario Pomares

Mario Pomares holds a Law degree from Miguel Hernández University and a Magister Lucentinus in Intellectual Property, Industrial Property, and Information Society Law from the University of Alicante. He is an Associate Professor in the Commercial Law Area of the Department of Legal Science at Miguel Hernández University and teaches in various master’s programs and postgraduate courses.
He is Managing Partner at the law firm Berenguer y Pomares Abogados, where he coordinates international strategies for the protection and enforcement of clients’ intellectual property rights. He is a member of the Geographical Indications Committee of ASIPI.
In the field of Designations of Origin, he has extensive professional experience advising various Regulatory Councils, both Spanish and international (such as the Tequila Regulatory Council and the National Federation of Coffee Growers of Colombia). He has been selected as
an expert by the EUIPO, the European Commission, and other institutions for international projects in this area. He is Legal Advisor to the Origen España Association and a member of oriGIn, an international organization where he served on the Executive Committee for six
years.
