Diego Fernández is a partner in the Intellectual Property (IP), Information Technology (IT), Privacy and Artificial Intelligence department. He is a technology expert with 20 years’ experience across a wide range of areas, including, but not limited to: privacy and data protection, artificial intelligence, software licensing and cybersecurity. He regularly advises on intellectual property, artificial intelligence and personal data matters in M&A transactions. Diego was a foreign associate in the Information Technology and Privacy team at Foley & Lardner in Chicago, USA. He is currently President of ITechLaw. He also serves as a member of the Advisory Board of IAPP and as co-chair of the organisation’s Argentine chapter, is a member of the INTA Data Protection Committee and the IBA Technology Committee. He is President of the Privacy and M&A Committee of the Latin American Privacy Association (ALAP), a member of the Editorial Board of the Global Privacy Law Review, and Vice President for Latin America of the Lex Mundi Privacy Group—the largest network of independent law firms. Diego is the director of the postgraduate course “Technology, Law and Business” at Universidad Torcuato Di Tella, where he teaches and leads courses on (i) Data Protection and (ii) Artificial Intelligence.
