Previously, she was the co-founder of Romero Corral Abogados, established in the year2000.Margarita has over 30 years of experience in managing trademark and IP portfolios for both local and international clients in
Ecuador. INTA invited Margarita Romero to join as co-chair of the Global Advisory Council for Latin America and the Caribbean (GAC) for the 2022-2023 period. Margarita Romero is the President of the Social Action Committee of ASIPI for the 2023-2023period and has worked diligently to promote the ASIPI agreement with the Fe y Alegría Foundation, present in 22 countries in America, Spain, and Africa. The Executive Committee of ASIPI invited Margarita Romero to be the sole representative before the WIPO Standing Committee on Patents SCP/35 in Geneva from October 16 to 20 at SCP/35. Margarita is the mother of two teenagers andloves running, traveling, and spending time with her family. She is fluent in Spanish and English.She holds a Doctorate in Jurisprudence from the Pontifical Catholic University of Ecuador (PUCE) – 1996. She also has a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Intellectual Property from the University of Alicante, Spain (Magister LVCENTINVS) – 1998. Additionally, she holds a Postgraduate Certificate in Business Law from the Andean University Simón Bolívar, Quito, Ecuador. She has been a member of ASIPI
