Mechanical-Electrical Engineer, specialized in the electrical-electronic area, particularly in Digital Systems from the Facultad de Ingeniería of the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México.
Since 1990 he has been involved with intellectual property consulting. Representing large portfolios of intangible assets of national and international companies, his practice has focused mainly on counselling, filing and prosecution of patent work in various technological fields, and particularly with those that are computer-implemented, as well as those related to telecommunications, business methods and software. In 2023 he joined the firm Romo & Becerril IP Atelier, S.C.
He has participated as speaker in different national and international forums and seminars with topics related to Intellectual Property and Information.
He is a member of the Mexican Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property (AMPPI) of which he was Treasurer from 2011-2016 and President for the period 2017-2018, of the International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property (AIPPI) of which he is currently First Deputy Secretary General, and the Inter-American Association of Intelectual Property (ASIPI) of which he was Delegate for the period 2009-2012 and 2013-2015 and Alternate Delegate for the period 2019-2021.
