Fernanda Magalhães joined Kasznar Leonardos in 2017 as head of Marketing and Entertainment Law practice. She received her Law Degree from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (PUC-Rio) and her master’s degree in Intellectual Property, Technology and Commerce from the Franklin Pierce Law Center – University of New Hampshire.

Fernanda has more than 21 years of Brazilian and international experience in in-house and private practice. She advises clients on strategic business practices, marketing, advertising and branding issues as well as on a wide range of entertainment law matters.

Mrs. Magalhães is licensed to practice law in Brazil as well as the Virginia State Bar and the District of Columbus Bar. While living abroad, Fernanda held positions at Coty Inc. and Mars Inc. and upon her return to Brazil in 2014, Fernanda served as Chief Intellectual Property for the Rio 2016 Olympic and Paralympic Organizing Committee, where she was responsible for providing legal support to key areas of the event, such as brand protection, marketing and communications, ceremonies, and torchlight relay.

Fernanda is a member of the Ethics Committee of the Brazilian Advertising Self-Regulation (CONAR), of INTA’s Right of Publicity Committee (17-21), Chair of the Intellectual Property Committee of AmCham Rio and Coordinator of Intellectual Property Rights in Sports of the Brazilian IP Association (ABPI).
