Hugo Gómez

Lawyer from the Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos and Master in Business Law from the Universidad Peruana de Ciencias Aplicadas.

Currently is the Chief Judge for the Republic of Peru at the Court of Justice of the Andean Community. He teaches the course “Administrative procedural law” in the Master of Public Economic Law at the Universidad del Pacífico (Lima).

In Peru, he has been Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Environmental Assessment and Control Agency, National Director of Legal Affairs (in the Ministry of Justice and Human Rights) and member of the Advisory Cabinet of the Minister of Foreign Trade and Tourism. In the National Institute for the Defense of Competition and the Protection of Intellectual Property (INDECOPI) he has been Technical Secretary of the Commission of Free Competition, Technical Secretary of the Chamber of Defense of Competition and Vice President of the Commission for Consumer Protection.

He has been Professor of Administrative Law and Competition Law at the Universidad Peruana de Ciencias Aplicadas, the Universidad Mayor de San Marcos and the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú. He is the author, co-author and director of books, and author of several articles published in law books and magazines.
