Diana Muller is Of Counsel to Gottlieb, Rackman & Reisman, P.C. in their New York office. Ms. Muller is a recognized expert in international trademark and copyright law, worldwide licensing, and in the transfer of technology and security interest agreements. Ms. Muller has graduated from the University of Buenos Aires in Argentina and has studied in the University of San Francisco in the United States. Her work with sports marketing firms, sports agents, professional athletes and designers has made her a driving force behind the creation of programs, in the United States and abroad, for the protection of the names and likenesses of famous people in the sports & entertainment industry. Ms. Muller has advised athletes and sports companies on promotional and sponsorship contracts and has been a forerunner of image and name protection of famous sports figures and organizations. Ms. Muller’s clients include Michael Jordan, Patrick Ewing, and the IOC (International Olympic Committee).
Ms. Muller has written and lectured extensively on such topics as licensing, trademark developments, foreign investments, and protection of intellectual property rights in developing countries. She has spoken at the New York Women’s Bar Association and the National Conference for Women in Business on the subject of careers in entertainment and fashion licensing. Ms. Muller has been a guest lecturer on intellectual property at New York University and at Inter-American Association of Intellectual Property (ASIPI) conventions and WIPO seminars, where she has given talks on sports licensing, IP licensing and protection of image rights in Costa Rica, The Dominican Republic and Mexico. She has taken part in panel discussions for many institutions and publications such as the inaugural Women’s Wear Daily Legal Roundtable on Protecting Intellectual Property, where she spoke about the financial losses companies face when they fail to see global counterfeiting as a serious threat. Ms. Muller also advised fashion designers on IP law during New York Fashion Week.
Ms. Muller has published and collaborated in several articles such as “The Infamous El Chapo Name Triggers Trademark Issues,” “Combatting Counterfeiting and Piracy in Latin America,” Intellectual Property and its Application to the Real Estate Industry,” The Licensing in the Field of Sports,” “The Art of Protecting Intellectual Property Rights in the Field of Fashion,” and” Sportswear Counterfeiting is Bad Sportsmanship.”
Diana Muller has been a U.S. delegate to ASIPI and is currently the president of the Entertainment Law Committee; a member of AIPPI (The International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property) and INTA (International Trademark Association).
