IP Counsel of América Móvil S.A.B de C.V. (AMX) since 2013, year in which he joined the company to be in charge of global operations related to intellectual property assets in all countries where AMX has presence. Currently manages a portfolio of more than 7000 trademark registrations and has been actively involved in the acquisition of more 2000 audiovisual works designing appropriate strategies for the assignment of artistic works and actively collaborating in the design of the legal structure of own productions. He also advises various subsidiaries and affiliates of AMX as Claro Video Inc. (Miami Fl.) and of Grupo Carso as the Foundation Carlos Slim on issues related to intellectual property, acquisitions and licensing of audiovisual content. Octavio has been a lecturer and panelist in various seminars organized by the American Intellectual Property Law Association (AIPLA), by the Mexican Association for Protection of Intellectual Property (AMPPI) and by the Inter-American Association Intellectual Property (ASIPI) and has been a professor of Intellectual Property and Communication Regulations at the Technological and Higher Education Institute of Monterrey.
