HOW TO REACH A BALANCE EQUATION?

Governments have become very active in issuing regulations for mandatory labelling in an ever-increasing number of products from drugs to drinks and food products which are “high in”. The industry prefers self-regulation but governments have taken a harder stance and have been issuing mandatory labelling warnings in spite of existing Intellectual Property rights. The panel will discuss the current state of mandatory labelling regulations, how to seek a proper balance between mandatory warnings and IP rights and industry concerns and proposals for self-regulation.
