WORKSHOP: COUNTRY BRAND – IMPLEMENTING ITS PROTECTION

The country sign, also known as the country brand, is an issue that has acquired great importance internationally and, especially, in Latin America. Indeed, there are more and more countries that have adopted this distinctive sui generis sign, which serves as a kind of umbrella brand used by countries to accompany the export effort, promote investments and attract tourism, among others.
Given its relevance, this is an issue that ASIPI has been analyzing since 2014 and has developed a proposal on the various ways of how it can be protected.
The panel will aim to share the conclusions of the latest studies carried out by ASIPI, as well as to know what are doing several jurisdictions to promote this distinctive sign, both in the legal and marketing fields.
