Santiago Rojas

Lawyer, he currently holds the position of Northern Regional Manager of CAF – Development Bank of Latin America.
He has been linked to the Colombian public service for more than two decades, becoming Minister of Commerce, Industry and Tourism.
In his different positions he has approached intellectual property issues from different angles: as chief negotiator of Colombia for Decision 486 of the Andean Community of Nations (CAN); as legal advisor for the free trade agreements negotiated by Colombia, including the intellectual property chapters; as representative in the mission to the WTO in the TRIPS committee; and as a legal advisor for the TRIPS committee, and as director of National Taxes and Customs when in charge of implementing the enforcement policy for border measures in the area of intellectual property. He was professor of international economic law at the law school of the Universidad Javeriana and author of the book Las reglas de juego del TLC, among other publications.
