Holds a Bachelor’s degree in Legal and Social Sciences at the University of Law of Cruz Alta (1984), master’s degree in Law from the Federal University of Santa Catarina (1993) and PhD in Legal Sciences at the National University of Asunción (1999).
Dr. Pimentel is associate professor at the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC) and Professor of the Academy of intellectual property, innovation and development of the Brazilian National Institute of Industrial Property (INPI). In addition, Mr. Pimentel is Ad Hoc arbitrator of the Arbitration Court of MERCOSUR.
Dr. Pimentel has a very large practical experience in the field of Law and Public Policy, especially in Intellectual Property and Innovation, with extensive academic work related to.
On July, 28th of 2015, Dr. Pimentel was designated President of the Brazilian National Institute of Industrial Property (INPI).
