BIBIANA BERNAL MESA is a lawyer from the Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana of Medellín, Colombia, with a specialization in Management from the same university and a specialization in Commercial Law from the Universidad Externado de Colombia, in Bogotá; she also has a Master’s Degree in Law from the U.P.B. whose research line was on alternative methods of conflict resolution, particularly arbitration.

She was Director of the Center for Conciliation, Arbitration and Amicable Composition of the Medellin Chamber of Commerce for Antioquia (Cámara de Comercio de Medellín para Antioquia) and Corporate Vice President of FGA FONDO DE GARANTÍAS S.A.

Likewise, she was recently a consultant in the implementation process of the “Conflict Resolution Toolbox” (“Caja de Herramientas”) within the framework of the “Justice Program for a Sustainable Peace” of USAID and the Ministry of Justice together with National Planning.

Currently she is an independent lawyer, consultant, arbitrator and friendly composer of the Chambers of Commerce of Medellín for Antioquia and Cali.

For 20 years she has been a professor at the Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana in undergraduate and graduate studies, in the areas of conflict resolution, private contracting and commercial law. She is also an undergraduate and postgraduate professor at the CES Law School.

Her lines of work are MASC, Commercial Law, especially Contracts, Companies, Corporate Law and Corporate Governance.
