Curriculum Vitae

Graduated from Law School, Cum Laude, at Pontificie Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra in 2002. She has also completed a Diploma in Business and International Commerce from Universidad Iberoamericana (UNIBE) – Fundación Institucionalidad y Justicia, Inc. (FINJUS), Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, 2005 and holds a Master of International Law Studies from Handong International Law School (HILS), Pohang, South Korea, 2010.
She is an intellectual property attorney, with a focus on trademarks, consumer law, product labeling, and regulatory aspects associated with pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, and food and beverages; areas in which she had worked mainly for the past 15 years, as an associate and subsequent partner, in the renowned Dominican firm Headrick Rizik Alvarez & Fernández.
In December 2021, she accepted a public post, serving as the director of the General Secretariat of the Attorney General Office (Public Prosecutor’s Office), forming a team with the Attorney General (of the Dominican Republic) to attend to the legal-administrative services that are in charge of the institution, serving as well as secretary of the Superior Council of the ‘Public Ministry’, as a governing body, working on Administrative, Civil and Commercial Law aspects.
She is a member of the Dominican Association of Intellectual Property (ADOPI) and part of its current Board of Directors, as second VP and other local association in the DR than oversees labeling and regulatory policies for food and beverages and the pharmaceutical sector. Likewise, she is a member of other international intellectual property associations, such as ASIPI, of which he is part of its’ ASIPI-EDUCA Committee and previously, of the Regulatory Committee. Acevedo has also been a member of INTA and AIPPI.
