The Interamerican Association of Intellectual Property -abbreviated ASIPI in Spanish – was founded in 1964. It is currently the first regional intellectual property organization in the American continent and one of the most respected organizations in the world as a promoter and defender of intellectual rights.
With a network of more than 1,000 renowned professionals from over 49 countries, ASIPI has assumed a leadership role in the international arena, forging solid relationships with sister organizations and associations, and strengthening ties with local authorities in the Americas, universities, chambers of commerce, associations of entrepreneurs, bar associations and other national entities to promote its main objectives.
ASIPI has a long history of advocating for the harmonization and uniform treatment of intellectual property in the Americas, as well as its dissemination, defense and education.

PROFESSIONAL AND EDUCATIONAL DEVELOPMENT: By participating in ASIPI’s Work Committees, Commissions and Programs, our members actively contribute to the development and dissemination of intellectual property and generate content that is a reference for the professional, academic and judicial worlds. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY DEVELOPMENT: The mission of ASIPI and its members is to promote, develop and multiply the benefits of intellectual property rights. ASIPI holds an observer position before the WIPO, is member of the User Group of the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO), and actively participates in other international forums, and presents position papers on a wide range of issues affecting decision-making and policy development in the region.

Overview:
Individual membership is for professionals permanently residing in a country of the Americas who are legally entitled to practice their profession in the field of Intellectual Property.
Admission Process:
The admission process begins with the submission of the membership application form.
The application must be sponsored by two ASIPI members from any country.
The annual membership fee is USD 375 and those under the age of 30, will receive a 50% discount.
Once the membership application has been formally accepted, the Treasurer of the Association will send you instructions for the payment of the annual membership fee.

Overview:
Corporate membership is exclusive for companies whose main purpose is not to provide intellectual property services.
The company requesting incorporation is the holder of the corporate membership. This company must appoint a representative before ASIPI.
The appointed representative may join the Corporate Committee of ASIPI and has its own forum for discussing issues of common interest. Additionally, two members of the company may request their incorporation into two other committees, at their choice. With the exception of the Corporate Committee, the members of the corporate associate can only hold the positions of president or secretary of the social action and/or diversity, inclusion and sustainability committees.
The appointed representative can be replaced without having to initiate procedures for admitting new associates.
All the members of the company attending ASIPI events may register as members even if they are not the appointed representative before ASIPI.
