Management of cultural expressions of Communities and Indigenous Peoples

We will address crucial issues related to the protection and promotion of cultural expressions of indigenous communities and peoples. This panel will bring together leading experts who promote and protect the cultural and traditional richness of indigenous communities.
The discussion will delve into the challenges and opportunities faced by indigenous communities in preserving and sharing their cultural expressions in an increasingly globalized world. Central to the dialogue will be the critical role of legal frameworks and corporate responsibility in safeguarding and respecting the cultural heritage and intellectual property of these communities. We will focus on the safeguarding of the traditional knowledge involved in the costumes and cultural expressions of these communities. On the other hand, we will analyze the enactment of significant legal initiatives, such as the recognition of the Afromexican People and the Law for the Safeguarding of the Elements of Mexico’s Cultures; and the Federal Copyright Law to ensure that expressions of popular cultures are no longer in the public domain.
This panel will provide an in-depth look at the challenges and opportunities in the management of the cultural rights of communities and native peoples, especially in the context of fashion and creative expression.
