ASIPI at the "Paraguay Sport Summit" Congress

On Wednesday, December 16, 2020, the panel on “Intellectual Property Rights in E-sports”, took place, a lecture by Aldo Fabrizio Modica, president of the Entertainment Law Committee of the Interamerican Association of Intellectual Property (ASIPI), within the framework of the second day of the mega sports event 100% virtual “Paraguay Sport Summit”.

 

Aldo Fabrizio referred to the following topics in his presentation:

  1. What are eSports?
  2. eSports vs. traditional sports
  3. IOC position on eSports
  4. eSports and intellectual property rights
  5. Ownership in the organization of tournaments and competitions
  6. Requirements for the organization of tournaments and competitions

 

Approximately 70 people attended, and the debate that followed was very interesting, demonstrating the variety of opinions and criteria on the subject.

 

The “Paraguay Sport Summit” congress took place on December 15, 16 and 17, 2020, being the first sports event management event in Paraguay to generate an optimal space among referents of the sports sector to jointly contribute to the growth of the sports industry.
